Being located directly on the shoreline in Aqaba means our relationship with the sea is practical, daily, and visible. Sustainability for us is not a separate program, it shapes how we design experiences, collaborate with people, and operate the space.
On a daily level, this means prioritizing local sourcing, minimizing single-use materials on site, and turning collected beach waste into creative workshop materials. Visitors do not only observe sustainability, they participate in it.
We focus on reducing environmental impact, supporting local suppliers, encouraging mindful tourism, and creating activities that strengthen the connection between people and the coast. Our goal is to ensure that the space remains beneficial to both residents and visitors over time.
Within this commitment, Bite by the Sea applies Blue Economy principles by linking marine protection with local economic value.
We integrate hands-on practices such as marine waste reuse workshops, responsible beach behavior guidance, and collaborations with local makers. Several activities generate income
while simultaneously reducing waste, allowing environmental responsibility to support operational sustainability.
The objective is not only protecting the coastline, but influencing how people interact with it long after they leave. Rather than relying on large interventions, we focus on consistent small-scale practices that collectively protect the Red Sea while strengthening local
livelihoods
Sustainability at Bite by the Sea functions as an operating framework rather than a campaign. By aligning daily operations with environmental responsibility and local participation, we demonstrate that small coastal businesses can actively contribute to both ecological protection and economic resilience.
Our role is not only to operate on the beach, but to help ensure the coast continues to exist as a living space for people, culture, and nature. The model is intentionally designed to remain adaptable and replicable in other coastal locations without requiring heavy infrastructure.
